Moment 41 - 6:24PM
And for a few seconds, the world disappears.
They have barely entered spring, and their mind already drifts toward summer, toward this work: “Summer Mirror.”Probably the one that captures with the greatest intensity all the colors of their chromatic spectrum.
The idea was born at the bottom of a pool, in Menorca. Lying there, facing the water’s surface, that large unstable rectangle which, after a few seconds of calm, becomes a mirror. A liquid mirror, fragile, almost unreal.
What is unsettling is that one never sees their own reflection… As if they were not in front of the mirror, but behind it. As if they were only observing everything that settles upon it.
The sunlight then passes through the matter, diffusing, exploding into reflections almost stellar. One no longer looks at the world: one feels it. For a moment, everything becomes blurred, like in a dream. Silence sets in, amplifying this sense of isolation and opening a new way of perceiving.
While working on these images, they sought to reveal what the eye often ignores: colors that are already present, yet invisible. A vibrant, almost cosmic palette that evokes summer as a sensation rather than an image.
The liquid movement is so fluid, and the relief of the tiny bubbles so striking, that one could get lost between photograph and awakened matter.
“Summer Mirror” was born from that suspended moment, where everything becomes unstable, fragile, and profoundly alive.
